About the course
Our 2-week part-time online course Explore data using R is a gentle introduction to using R to organise, inspect and display your data in a visual way
You’ll find this course useful if you need to:
- Create a graph to illustrate your findings in your report, thesis or scientific paper
- Quickly explore data given to you by colleagues, to understand patterns and identify data-entry errors
- Understand and adapt code data-visualisation code written by your colleagues or published online
- Demonstrate your ability to create plots in your degree, for a job application, or for a new role in your organisation
Plotting and analysing your data using code is a fundamental step towards reproducible science, enabling you to share your work so others can build on it
Our course is ideal for complete beginners to coding, or those who want to refresh the basics and build confidence, or switch to using the tidyverse
range of R packages, including dplyr
and ggplot2

This two-week tutored course starts on Monday 02 September 2024 and ends on Friday 13 September 2024
Study time is 3-5 hours each week. The timing is completely flexible - you can participate whenever it suits you during the week
